Dieterich Buxtehude's concert series, Abendmusiken, achieved fame far beyond the walls of Lübeck. Many musicians, including Bach and Handel, timed their visits to coincide with this yearly event, which took place during Advent. This CD presents a reconstruction of the musical contents of Buxtehude's Abenmusik, utilizing multiple choirs in dialog, and the new, North German Baroque organ in Gothenburg.
