C.B. Fisk concert hall organs Buffalo—Dallas—Seattle—Yokohama
Over the past 20 years, the C.B. Fisk company has emerged as a leading builder of concert hall organs. Although not their first concert hall organ, the Opus 100 installed in 1991/2 for the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas was a landmark instrument. It featured many innovations for the Fisk company, which had been prototyped on earlier organs (principally the organ of Slee Hall, Buffalo, SMU). These included a modern equivalent of the Barker lever (which lightens the touch when manuals are coupled), harmonic flutes and a wide variety of reed stops. In addition to the fine German/Dutch Baroque-style reeds, the organ also includes French Baroque, French Romantic, and English Romantic reeds. These features have become a hallmark of later Fisk concert hall organs in Seattle and Yokohama, Japan.
This week, we are featuring recordings on Fisk Concert Hall organs with special $13.98 pricing (List: $16.98).
