The Stanford Sonatas/Charles Callahan
List Price: $16.98 Our Price: $14.98 You save $2.00!

The Stanford Sonatas contains 3 of the greatest organ works to appear during the Edwardian era of English music. Written when the composer was age 65, they represent the mature output of a prolific composer. Each of the sonatas has a duration of between 23 and 29 minutes, and each pays tribute to the composers and culture of a separate nation: The Britannica pays tribute to England, the Celtica to Ireland and the Eroica to France. Charles Callahan, quoted by the English trade journal The Organ as "...a real romantic" brings a uniquie sensitivity and grandeur to these works, and his interpretation combined with the period 1911 Harrison organ (a perfect match to the organ works of this era) makes this recording of Stanford one of the most convincing and thrilling you may ever experience.
