American composer William Albright is known especially known for his works for organ and piano, although he has written for many instruments.  His music has been performed by many major symphony orchestras.  In this work, he sets the poetry of Christopher Smart, whose poetry also served as the libretto for Britten's "Rejoice in the Lamb." Composed in 1983, "A Song to David" receives its first recording here.
